Family Farming

Family remains a huge part of our business. Robert and Joanna have led the way at Black Horse Farm for several decades, succeeding Dick after he retired in 1983.  Their passion has always been breeding and showing high quality livestock.  The ability to recognise top quality animals is important to us as it leads to the very best beef and lamb.  The rearing conditions of farm animals from birth through to slaughter has a huge impact on animal welfare, environmental impact and final meat quality.

We are passionate about all of these aspects and continuously look for ways to enhance the way we breed and rear our livestock.  Although agriculture continues to change in terms of technology and innovation, our core principles remain familiar and will continue to be passed down the generations.
